1. Advanced Learners and Slow Learners
  Within the classrooms, faculties have to deal with different types of students; some are very intelligent who learn very fast and some are average who learn slowly. Therefore it is required to determine the abilities. Some students need only guidance and some students need a hard work and regular attention.
Generally on the basis of their learning speed students can be classified in two groups;
The advanced learners
The slow learners
Identification of ability of students to learn
The students are identified based on one or more of the following;
Analysis of HSC score for 1st year students
Performance in Mid-semester exams and tutorial sessions.
Communication and soft skills
Their behavioral traits
Mapping of students attributes by mentors
Theory and Practical attendance
Advanced learners
  The student who learn fast and have quick grasping power are called advanced learners. Obviously their learning speed is more than the peers. Fast learners are identified through their performance in examinations, interaction in class room and laboratory, their fundamental knowledge, concept understanding and articulation abilities etc. The Institute promotes independent learning that contributes to their academic and personal growth.
Measures taken for improving academic performance of advanced learners
Guiding and encouraging for career planning and to take up competitive exams like GPAT, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, CAT, etc
Encouraging to participate in various symposiums like quiz, poster presentation, Conferences, inter institution competition, etc.
Various club activities are conducted by all the departments in the respective areas to mould the students in corresponding field
Students are encouraged to be members of professional bodies like IPA and organize technical events
Students are encouraged to take up minor research projects to inculcate research orientation and practical awareness
Discussion or seminar on the advanced topic
Guiding and encouraging to communicate research papers in conferences/Journals
Bright and diligent students are motivated and inspired to get university ranks.
Semester toppers and university rank holders are encouraged with certificates and cash prizes by the institute and alumnus.
Slow learner
  The connotation of academically slow learner means those who could not keep pace with the classroom teaching needs extra attention so as to bring such students at par with the rest of the students of the class. Slow learners are identified based on their performance in University Examination of previous semester and internal examinations, blue book assessment, attendance record in theory and practicals.
Measures taken for improving academic performance of slow learners
During the course of study, group of students are assigned to a faculty for mentoring. The mentors monitor academic performance and interact frequently to understand and assist any student with issues that affect their ability to learn or impede their academic success.
Mentors maintain the entire academic and attendance record of the student which is also conveyed to the parents time to time via Whatsapp or SMS.
Learning material prepared by subject handling faculty members is verified by the HODs are provided with the commencement of the semester to students and also is uploaded in the student portal regularly for students reference
Remedial/Extra classes are conducted with appropriate focus on the subject/topic in which the students are found to be slow learners
Modal answers keys are prepared and distributed to students to improve the way of presenting the answers in the exam to score marks.
Individual academic counseling is done by concerned subject teacher and 20 most important questions were learned and solved by them
Students study groups are formed for peer-to-peer learning
Slow learners meeting scheduled with Principal and Discipline monitoring committee members for special emphasis with reference to goals, lifelong learning, learning ethics, morals and discipline, planning, executing and verifying about their study goals and achievements.
2. Student centric teaching learning
  Student-centered learning, broadly encompasses methods of teaching that shift the focus of instruction from the teacher to the student. Student-centered instruction focuses on skills and practices that enable lifelong learning and independent problem-solving.
  Anand Pharmacy College sought to promote student-centered learning by employing the various methods. Flipped classroom are conducted that provides prerecorded lectures followed by in-class exercises. Short video lectures are viewed by students at home before the class session, while in-class time is devoted to exercises, projects, or discussions. Tutorial books concept is introduced to sharpen the writing skills of the students. Use of laboratory equipments, instruments and benchtop experiences to provide hands on training experiences. ICT enabled learning techniques like application of QR Code for demonstration and SOP of instruments. Different software training programs are conducted to heighten the ability to adapt and expand their minds to fresh and new skill sets.
