INSTITUTE INNOVATION COUNCIL (IIC)

Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has established ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes, start-ups and entrepreneurial ventures.

MIC has envisioned, encouraging creation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs. A network of these IICs will be established to promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campuses.Anand Pharmacy College is a proud participant under the MIC initiative of Institution’s Innovation Council at its premises and has received2.5 star in 2019-2020 and 4 Star  rating in 2020-2021.

Major Focus of IIC

  • To create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem
  • Start-up/ entrepreneurship supporting mechanism in HEIs
  • Prepare institute for Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements Framework (ARIIA)
  • Establish functional ecosystem for scouting ideas and pre-incubation of ideas
  • Develop better Cognitive Ability amongst Technology Students

2. Project Management and Finance


Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical and management principles and apply the same to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, manage projects efficiently in respective disciplines and multidisciplinary environments after consideration of economic and financial factors.

Communicate with the pharma community, and with society at large, regarding complex health activities confidently and effectively, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation by adhering to appropriate standards, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

Pharmaceutical industries, health care providers and the community, through
Publications and presentations. Contribute as reliable resource for industry research, Consultation and training partnerships. Possess ability to identify business Opportunities and initiate entrepreneurship.

Functions of IIC

  • Promotionof innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes, leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campus and surrounding areas
  • Conduction of a series of Innovation and Entrepreneurship related activitiesprescribed by Central MIC round the year, in a structured and time bound manner to nurture the innovation and entrepreneurial skills and mindset among the interested students
  • Mobilization of the required hardware and software resources, dedicated work spaces and seed funding to help students and faculty convert innovative ideas into demonstrable proof of concepts and working prototypes.
  • Organization of periodic workshops, seminars, hackathons, idea competition etc. as well as interactions with entrepreneurs, professionals and to create a mentor pool for student innovators
  • Encouragement of student innovators to participate in Hackathons, Design contests etc., and connect them to the mentors
  • Identification of potential innovations by students, rewarding them and sharingtheir success stories to various stakeholders
  • Hand holding and pre incubation support, for the budding student entrepreneurs aspiring to start business ventures / startups based on their innovative ideas or Patent Filing
